Turn Up the Sound and Get Ready to Rock and Roll
Maybe, as the t-shirt says, you really were able to see all the cool bands back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. The good news, though, is that if you missed some of the iconic classic rock concerts back in the day, many of the legends of rock and roll are touring this summer. Of course, it will cost a little bit more than it did back then.
Ringo Starr—The Elder Statesman of Rock and Roll
Just 84 years young, Ringo is hitting the road again with his “All Starr Band,” which this time around includes:
- Australian Colin Hay, known for his solo work and as frontman for Men At Work
- Steve Lukather and Warren Ham, formerly of Toto
- Greg Bissonnette, drummer for ELO and David Lee Roth
- Hamish Stuart, who played bass with Ringo’s mate Paul McCartney, as well as the Average White Band
Lynyrd Skynyrd—Still Standing after 50 Years
A half a century after releasing their groundbreaking first album, Skynryd returns to the road this summer, with Johny Van Zant, younger brother of original lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, on vocals. Look for the band to co-headline with ZZ Top for the Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour. There are also scheduled dates with Foreigner, Stevie Nicks and Def Leppard sharing the bill.
The Boss and The E Street Band—Culminating a Two-Year Road Trip
In 2023, Springsteen reunited the legendary E Street Band and launched a world tour, which has seen some postponements due to various health issues affecting Bruce and other members of the band. Though some dates were postponed, the tour has continued and is currently scheduled to finish in time for the 4th of July, with .
AC/DC—The Power Up Tour
With original lead guitarist Angus Young still rocking, the boys from Australia have scheduled a number of dates across North America and Europe, running from February through August of 2025. The North American leg of the tour opens in Minneapolis on April 10 and closes in Cleveland on May 28, with a total of 13 shows, including Soldier Field in Chicago, Ford Field in Detroit and the Rose Bowl.

- Alice Cooper brings his colorful brand of rock to 18 different venues across the United States this summer, from Huntsville, Alabama to Saginaw, Michigan to Columbus, Ohio.
- Santana—Guitar legend Carlos Santana is booked for 41 shows in 13 countries in 2025, including Jazzfest in New Orleans
- Billy Joel—The Piano Man is scheduled to take the stage late in the summer
