For most people, the daily grind and living day-to-day can be a habit that lacks luster and excitement. Getting caught up in life’s responsibilities can keep us busy. Personal, family and professional obligations are a full time job. However, being busy does not mean we are living fulfilled lives. There is a difference between being busy with matters that lead us to satisfaction, achieving goals and wellness from being busy with fruitless acts that lead us nowhere.

One of my clients who is a professional life coach, mother of three, and Nassau County resident knows this, firsthand. She has been a doer and a busy person for a lifetime, yet there have been times where she neglected areas of her life; this led to disappointment and unhappiness. Finding balance and finding her true self led to living her best life.

We are authors of our own stories. What will be your next chapter? Many people do not know what’s next because they do not take time to stop and think about goals, dreams, passions and purpose. Instead, they say “yes” to many activities and invitations, while saying “no” to time for self-care and self-improvement. Taking time to be still, to reflect and to examine where you are in life and where you want to go is key. A life coach facilitates this process. A life coach is someone who listens to you and provides you with strategies for daily life and an action plan to achieve your goals.
